How to Maintain Your Business’ Landscape Through Fall
Caring for Your Outdoor Space This Autumn

Summer has officially ended, but that doesn’t mean our outdoor spaces become obsolete. Your business’ outdoor space is the first impression your clients will receive, so you want it to be a good one. Landscapes can and should be maintained year-round, which means adapting them according to the seasons.
Fall is a really fun season to plan your landscape around. Here’s some tips on effective ways to maintain your outdoor space through fall.
Planting Flowers
Use your landscape to complement the seasons by planting flowers of an autumnal color scheme: oranges, reds, and yellows work great. Fall is a great time to plant colorful flowers, and also to plant bulbs in preparation to bloom in the spring.

Violas and pansies are a great example of flowers that bloom well in autumn, particularly here in Georgia, and also come in colors ranging from purple to orange and yellow – perfect for fall. Pansies are a little more susceptible to the harsh winter weather. These flowers will bring a bright burst of color to your landscape to continue welcoming visitors through the fall as the weather gets colder. They’re also some of the most popular fall plants here in Georgia, so they shouldn’t be too hard to come by.
Snapdragons are another great example of flowers that will thrive through the fall and winter, and provide beautiful color to the landscape.
Maintaining the Lawn
It’s important to keep on top of your lawns all year round. Though they’ll grow at a much slower rate than in the height of summer, lawns still need to be cut through the fall as they get longer.

Don’t forget your lawns still need nutrition, especially as they receive less of it from the sun. They still need to be watered, too, to avoid them drying out and dying.
Clumps of leaves that are left on the grass will suffocate it and cause disease to spread. It’s a good idea to regularly clear the lawn of any leaves, both for this reason and for cosmetic effect. Weeds will still grow pretty regularly through the fall, so they need to be kept on top of, too.
Hiring a Contractor
You can easily maintain your business’ landscape by hiring a contractor to regularly groom the grounds. You can rest assured that your outdoor space will always be in its best condition if you choose to hire a contractor to perform regular services of your landscape.

A landscape architect can also provide you with a detailed plan for grounds-care and maintenance specialized to fit your landscape, as well as assist you with seasonal designs for the space.
